Changes in the program of Guitar Open Festival

Upon the uncertain circumnutates about the support of the City of Subotica which have occurred after the changes in the structure of the local government, non competitive part of the Festival program had to be changed for the time being. We, the organisers, would like to use this opportunity to inform you that new program has been uploaded on the main page of the web site of the Festival.

“Guitar Open Cinema” to be presented at Art Cinema “Lifka”

This year’s program will be expanded by newly presented Guitar Open Cinema within which this year will be shown the documentary named The legendary guitar Performances (Segovia, Bream, Mikulka, Paco De Lucia).

Within this, the mutual cooperation of the Guitar Open Festival, Art Cinema Lifka and “Kosztolányi Dezső Theatre has been made official. Theatre K D will be the host of the master classes, competitive and non competitive programme of the Festival. Cafe Club SAX will be the host of the afterhour’s session as in previous years.

Guitar Open Festival 2010! This year, apart from Subotica (Serbia), will be also held in Kiskunhalas (Hungary)!

Combined organization of two festivals, as an intercultural project activity, has been reached after successful cooperation between cities of Subotica and Kiskunhalas and also after the cooperation between the “Guitar Open Festival” and “Cultural and Educational Center” from Kiskunhalas.

Apart from the mentioned cooperation, our organizations have started with the preparation of the application for the IPA Cross-border Co-operation programme for Hungary and Serbia. This joint project activity named MUSI(c)NERGY will be carried out in Vojvodina and Southern Hungary. It will last until Guitar Open Festival 2011 in June 2011.

Great contribution to the initiative for cross border cooperation has been carried out by city of Subotica and its local authorities, especially by Gyula Ladocki, Councilor in charge of international cooperation in the City of Subotica

Guitar Open Festival - new WEBSITE

GUITAR OPEN FESTIVAL founded in 2006. in Subotica, present professional manifestation which assemble professional and other guitarists and musicians, from primary and secondary school, thru students, theirs professors and eminent guests, leading world musicians.

Exchange of knowledge, practice and experience, and introducing with domestic and world tendencies in modern music pedagogy and concert practice is primary intent of this project. Great educational, cultural, psychological and sociological importance is basic, that our wishes and needs, thru his realization, and thru our energy and enthusiasm, become real.
